BAXTER!
1-22-10 Update pictures of BAXTER!!
He looks wonderful and a very nice guy! He is looking for his forever home! He has came a LONG way!!

Baxter came to us in horrible condition. He was emaciated to the point we could see every bone in his body. Even though he was in such terrible condition he was a total gentleman. We believe him to be a little over one year old.
He is in Foster care and needs to find a forever home to call his own. We believe him to be a Retriever, Hound mix maybe with some St. Bernard. Since being with Pet Helpers and in foster care Baxter has put on over 25+ lbs and is a very handsome healthy young gentleman.
He is up to date with his shots and has been neutered. If you are looking for a new friend that will treasure every moment with you Baxter is the one for you. He thinks he is a lap dog and loves to cuddle and watch TV.

Can you get any more adorable!? This baby boy was found wandering around in the snow and was rescued by a community member. We believe he is about 8 weeks old and a St. Bernard mix. He needs a forever home or a FOSTER home soon.
The family that found him can not keep him for long. He will be a large dog with lots of LOVE to give. If you can take this darling into your for a new family member or help in fostering him
please contact Pet Helpers, Inc.
I bet he is a great cuddlier and could be your new best friend.

More Puppies....

Look at these two darlings, they were both born on 11-08-2009 and they are brother and sister. They are both up for adoption with Pet Helpers. The white one is CC, she is very active and will go to the door to bark when she needs to potty. Hoss is the darker one and is the calmer little guy and laid back. He likes his sleep and will sleep longer than CC. He will go to the door when he has to potty but will not bark. Both babies like to sleep with you and be near you. Annie
Sheba
Annie and Sheba found in a snow storm. Since rescued Annie has been limping on her back right leg.. We had her rechecked by Aaron Pollock today.
She went off her pain medication on Friday but still limping. At today’s exam we found: Annie’s leg at some point in the past was broke and re-healed itself. The joint that looks like a ball that should fit into the socket on her hip is laying on top of the socket and it is bone on bone. Aaron will not be able to repair the socket so what the plan is right now is when she is ready for the surgery at about 4 1/2 months, is to remove the top of the inner ball and let the muscles grow around it ( I am sure there is medical terms that I have forgot). We hope that it will fill in where the bone is rubbing the bone. She is only 3 months and will remain on pain meds until she can have her surgery. We are not sure yet of the cost but whatever it takes to take her pain away we will do. Please keep our darling in your prayers!

Sheba is ready to join her new home. She is a very sweet and loving puppy. She warms up to you very quickly and loves to get all the attention.
and there are more...
Mastiff /Cho Lab Mix

This is Hope

She is still a baby herself at about a year old but has obviously recently had pups. She was darting in and out of traffic on Rt. 250 in Farmington. She is "hoping" to find a new family to love her. If you would like to adopt this pretty girl call Pet Helpers
My name is Boog.

I am a yellow Lab mix, almost a year old and I am the newest member the Pet Helpers Family of fine furry friends. But I heard them say poor Boog is not without his problems. I guess someone shouldn't have dumped me out on a desolate country road in the cold. I know all the running I did made my hips hurt. But things are looking up because a wonderful lady named Kim found me and took me to her house and found Pet Helpers who said to take me to the vet and then they will help find me a new home. But then everyone got sad cause they said my hips are hurting cause I have something called Hip dysplasia and it's going to cost a lot a lot of money to fix me. But they said not to worry they are going to fix me so someone will want to adopt me. They even said hopefully other people that hear about me will want to help me too. There is a donate button on their website if you want to help fix my hips. www.pethelpersinc.org They should call it "The Help Boog
Fund".
Boog, Praying to God that someone will adopt him and give him the love he deserves.

This is Eddie (A.K.A. Scruffy).

He was rescued from the cold streets and need to find a forever home where he will NEVER have to be cold or hungry again!. He is right at 1 year old and is
13 lbs. I spent sometime with him today and what a sweetheart. The family that found him took him to the Vet and he is up to date with all his shots, has been heart worm tested and now on flea and heart worm preventions.
While I was visiting Eddie surprised us. When I had a treat in my hand he rolled over, he stood on his back SHORT (he looks tall in some of these pictures but he is just a little guy) legs and turned, he sat and laid down. He was so proud of what he did. He is house trained and will whine and go to the door. Eddie will be a wonderful new addition to any ones family. He is a little shy at first but give him a few minutes and he will come right around. If you are interested in Eddie contact Pet Helpers.

Update 12-31-09
Did everyone read THE DOMINION POST today? On 1-B they have a story about Ms. lady and her 3 puppies. These are the ones that was found in freezing water and starving. Brandy Brubaker from the Post did a great job...thank you!! Here is a updated picture that Matt the foster Dad just sent a few minutes ago and he said they are doing good.
This story is VERY disturbing.
HERSHEY!!

Handsome REX!
A call came into Pet Helpers today about a mom and 3 puppies. A young gentleman found them last night and spent a great bit of time warming towels and trying to get them warm. Two of the puppies were sitting in ice cold water on the street and could not

even get up. The Mom and her puppies are very emaciated as you can see from these pictures.
This is probable one of the
<<MOMMY!
worse rescues I have seen. Can you imagine this mom watching this happen to her babies and not able to do anything to help them.
This DID

NOT happen over night who ever had these wonderful dogs and abandoned them for the unknown needs to answer for this.
This mom is the
<< Hershey!
sweetest girl for what she has been through and that says nothing about the darling babies. While they were with us at the Vet tonight they were started on high protein can food as well as dry food.
It was so
< Sweet REX!
sad to see them eat, like they had to savor every bite. Even as hungry as they were not one of them growled or showed any aggression. We are reaching out to ANYONE who can foster one of these
darling and give them the love they have NEVER HAD!
